Dare to Dream

C says:
Life is short. Very short. With the epidemic of the swine flu, accidents, sudden unexplained deaths, etc...How long do we have to wait in order to fulfill our dreams? Whenever I think of fulfilling my dreams, I would always be held back by my doubts and fears. Even now as I write this blog, my dream is coming back to me so vividly, yet a little voice at the back of my head screams at me, "It is unreachable. Get real C."
How do we make dreams a reality? Do I have what it takes to live my dream? Would I be willing to sacrifice everything?
My answers, "Only God knows."
So what is this super dream of mine???
My ultimate dream is to work abroad, preferably in Singapore. Aaah...to live in my own apartment, to have a stable and exciting job. Of course, eventually I want bring my family there as well...
*sigh*
So what is stopping me from living the dream? Let's start with the financial situation. You need money. Lots of it. So right now, I am working my butt off Mondays to Friday. Still looking for another source of income though...my monthly expenses are waaaaay too much. I envy people who work and still get allowances from very rich parents who couldn't care less what their children do with 5K a month. I haven't bought anything new to wear since I started working! My shoes broke (more like disintegrated...) 3x while I was walking in the office. I had to run (hop) to Mr.Quickie.
I also figured that to bag a job in such an advance country like Singapore you'll have to be really really really good. ...so I want to enroll in workshops. I'm also trying to self-study different digital arts or graphic techniques. I want to know everything! Enrolling in an academy is also expensive. I can't just shell out 20k for a 6 week course in Digital Arts because that would mean depleting my entire savings from work.
Lastly, I believe you need connections. Whether connections to the embassy or company, you gotta have them. No matter how talented or hardworking you are, nobody beats the Child or Cousin or Relative or Very Close Friend of the Great CEO.
Sorry for the babble. Despite what I just wrote, I am holding on to my dream. Very stubborn, that I am. One way or the other, I will get my dream. Or something similar...Hey God, I'm not picky. ^___^
How about you E?

    C,
Nice post. It's good that you have a dream as it gives you direction in your life. It's also important that you work on it so that it will become a reality -- we create our own destiny.

It seems that you need to work on your finances. Are you starting saving now? I can help on giving advices on personal finances =)
